Our Practice Philosophy
Our staff is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Mandarin and Vietnamese
Our Urban Health Solutions providers and staff come from diverse backgrounds. Our paths have intersected because we share a single vision of patient care.
Our providers were trained at some of the top schools in their fields, and our staff are hand picked for their attentiveness, discretion, and compassion. As an organization we work to broaden our knowledge and increase our skills in patient care.
Our providers take their time with each patient to assess and address the needs of each individual. We believe it is important that every patient is treated with the same consideration, regardless of means, education, illness or social status. The broad range of patients we see attests to this – people of every age, gender, race, religion, socio-economic class, and sexual orientation.
At Urban Health Solutions, we feel teaching is an essential part of medicine. We have students in medical, pharmacy, physician’s assistant and medical assistant schools rotating through our office. We find that the more our patients understand about their health, the better their health outcome. We regularly hold teaching programs targeted to patients with diseases like STDs HIV, asthma, and diabetes in addition to counseling and instruction provided in one-on-one by providers during office visits. We see every interaction with other health professionals as an opportunity to exchange information that benefits our patients.
Accessibility is important, and we continually try to find the balance that allows patients to contact our providers when they feel it is necessary, without compromising our ability to attend to the care of other patients. We understand that many people cannot get off work, so our providers are on call 24/7.
Community service is a commitment that all of us pursue individually; the formation of Urban Solutions fulfills our goal of having our medical practice serve the community as well.
Urban Health Solutions is not part of a large corporation or health system. Our independence gives us flexibility We can allow more time for each patient. We customize our approach to best fit each individual patient and adjust our services to the needs of the community we serve. We accept many health plans, and assist the uninsured with navigating the health care system for their health coverage. We enjoy serving our community and are interested in the whole patient: physical, mental and spiritual.
